BLACK GOLD – The Elephant In The Room

Martin Luther. King: History will have to record that the greatest tragedy of this period of social transition was not the strident clamor of the bad people, but the appalling silence of the good people.

More about……

The Elephant In The Room

The Elephant In The Room

Apart from his previous art works, Low created paper cuttings imitating “bank notes” as the Gold this time. Each note is stem from different decades, regions and incidents with a historical link. Before the contents being cut into fine paper art works, he was repeating the process of deconstructed and reformation and deconstructed and reformation and… eventually, he shares his thoughts in:

  • the feelings caused by the nation developement
  • hesitation while we talk about our roots, our mainland guardians
  • the helpless with some uncontrollable conquer / intruder forces
  • the species extinction caused by high speed forest demolish
  • the priceless sacrifice made to the motherland fulfilling human greed
  • some miserable facts being eliminated and ended with forever unseen

All the above are simile with an idiom pointing: we are used to deny and ignore on facts even if they took place right in front of us with an enormously impact – The Elephant In The Room.

+++++              +++++              +++++              +++++              +++++              +++++

The “Gold” are all hung in a “Black” space. Do make some talks with us this August. We have torches ready to help you getting nearer to the Elephant so things could be seen clearer. A friendly tip for you: there are unique interpretations on some additional numbers, we hope to add on satisfaction of you looking deep into the creations.

Dialogues Between The Visual and Performing Arts

BLACK GOLD 黑 金
The Dialogue Between The Visual and performing arts 視覺藝術與表演藝術之間的對話”

Creation is one of a way to express our feelings towards life topics
By the time different creations meet together, they talk
and that’s when DIALOGUES are created

Low has been always talking with his art works. For him, Dialogues represent the communication in between the Viewer and the Art Works. Thus, there are unseen influences flowing between them.

Low has gathered some friends whom are well trained from performing arts to crystallizing these Dialogues with their own expertise by not specifying any mediums or methods. This has become a way for the others to interpret BLACK GOLD, together with Low, but from owns’ perspectives.

The results of this transformation could be entitled as: Performance, Characterizing, Re-creation etc.

We may call these…… DIALOGUES
