AESTHETIC LIFE IN LIVING

Yap Hong Ngee is one of the veteran artists in Malaysia, who was born in 1943 in Mentakab, Pahang and studied in Tokyo, Japan when he was young. He was inspired by his mentor from young, since then he started his life as an artist for 60 years.

To pay tribute and celebrate veteran artists, OACC has specially organised this exhibition. Master Yap is specialised in flowers and bird painting which mostly are derived from daily life. His compositions of the paintings are lively and interesting, the brush strokes are free and refreshing and it is portrayal of the mind of the artist. In this exhibition, you will see the latest work of the artist, such as fig tree series, window series, teapot series and more.

Not forgetting to highlight, Master Yap’s special skill in transforming waste into art, he can creatively give new life to the waste. Such creativity and spirit are very important to the society today, so with this exhibition, Master Yap will bring in his “new” furniture to OACC, visitors will be able to indulge in his aesthetic world while giving you a feel of home.

Exhibition will be open for free viewing from 16 April – 5 July 2017; you will have a chance to meet Master Yap personally over a tea session, talk about his creative ideas and aesthetics of life.
